I did something this week I rarely ever do anymore - - I grabbed my board, hopped on my Schwinn bike, and cruised to the beach for a sunset surf session. Yes, that means that instead of heading to the beach to walk 'lil Señorita Gidget and photograph sunset, I decided to surf instead.

GASP!

I reasoned with myself that if the sky looked like it had potential to set the stage for a sunset show, I would simply get out of the water, bike like mad home, grab my camera, and then head back down to the beach to catch sunset. But, I also prepped myself that it was totally OK to simply enjoy a sunset from my surfboard in the ocean, sans my camera. I know, I know - - I'm slightly obsessed with photographing sunset! (OK, head-over-heels obsessed .)

As I arrived at the beach, I noticed dark gray rain clouds rolling in over the hills and hoped the the rain would cancel sunset. (Yes, you read that correctly - - I hoped that there wouldn't be a sunset!) Why? A rained out sunset = me being able to simply enjoy an afternoon surf session.

Well, the waves were pretty bad and I did way more paddling and duck diving than catching a wave. (Fun fact: I caught half a wave in the hour I was out surfing. Yes, half a wave - - it is a thing 😂😂😂.) But, then the rain started to come down and I found myself in one of the most magical places to be during a rain squall - - sitting in the warm ocean with the rain drops caressing my face and listening to that mesmerizing, wind chime sound the rain makes as it bounces off the ocean.

And thankfully for you and me, several more rained out sunsets this past week call for a 'lil sunset dreaming with these stunners from my sunset archives AND a 'lil bit more time to introduce my new Wanderlust collection at The Sunset Shop
Printed on divine, textured watercolor paper, these images are perfect for framing or sturdy enough to stand on their own. With a thin white border around the image for that extra touch, these wanderlust images have beautiful looks + are oh-so-soft to the touch = heck to the yasssssss!!!
