It's Not Always Sunny in Pura Vidadise... || Sunsets in Costa Rica || #FelizFriday 3.3.17

Most days, living in Pura Vidadise (AKA Tamarindo, Costa Rica) is great. I can walk to the beach in less than 10 minutes, ride my bike outfitted with a surfboard rack to go surf, and the sunsets here are pretty darn magical. Most days the positives outweigh the negatives - - and I truly believe that no matter where you live, there are always positives and negatives - - because that's just life!! So what are examples of negatives of living in Costa Rica?

The banks and paying bills!

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to pay service providers here in Costa Rica other than paying at the bank, or sometimes the grocery store (yes, the grocery store!).  No easy online bill pay with a credit card -- and trying to get online access to my Costa Rica bank account is guaranteed to shave a year off my life! Every month I DREAD having to go to the bank to pay my electric bill because, for some reason, the system is down more often than not. (Ah, yes, that reason is called "Tico Time", or in other words, "Latin Time" - - i.e. tomorrow is another day!) And paying the electric bill this month  just so happened to be one of those (many) times the system was down.

"#CostaRicaProblems: When you go to the bank to pay the electricity, wait over 30 minutes in line, only for the system to be down. It's not always easy in Pura Vidadise."

All I can say, is that living in a foreign country has made me appreciate high service standards and customer service in the US. Yes, for sure there are always exceptions to this, but the majority of the time, businesses in the US are client focused. And if something does go wrong, the company usually does it's best to ameliorate the problem. Fun fact: I actually love going to the bank now in the US because it's such a breeze - seriously!

Because let's face it, the majority of the time, all you need is love and a good sunset, am I right?! It's time to sit back, relax, enjoy some sunsets, and fall back into your day dream... .
